For those of you that stayed up for the Sharks/Blues OT, you got to see the Blues get screwed by the refs. I can’t recall NHL playoff refereeing ever being this consistently awful.
To add insult to injury, they gave Meier an assist on his blatant hand pass! Now, I don’t have a pony in this race, but being a big Barstool guy and enjoying the content Young Pageviews/Commissioner Riggs put out there, I’d like to see the Blues move on. But…my boy Nate (our club hockey captain) is from California and a huge Sharks fan (and a great dude), so I want him to be happy as well.
Earlier in the game, there was a headshot by Sammy Blais on Justin Braun that went uncalled.

Shakey told me that with that reffing group, the Sharks are 6-1 and the Blues are 0-4. Just sayin’.
From a Bruins standpoint, I like the Joe Thornton angle and the run and gun play style they have. I think it’d be a much more entertaining series. Burns, Karlsson, Couture (now with 14 goals), Hertl, Pavelski, Nyquist…they have a ton of skill.
Logan Couture, noted Barstool fan, was the just the second NHLer to attempt Pres’ right handed glove.

It’s been a long time, but I believe Pres got that robe at Curt Schilling’s auction after he tried to bankrupt the state of Rhode Island with his 38 Studios video game company. It was a 75 million dollar loan and he only had to pay back 2.5 mil…yeesh.
The B’s got now Sharks goaltender, Martin Jones, when they traded Lucic to LA. Later, in 2015, the Bruins sent Jones to the Sharks for a 2016 1st round pick and…wait for it…SEAN KURALY! I freaking love the way Kuraly plays. He’s a one man possession monster. He’s Captain Cutback, but in a good way.
I don’t know what the diagnosis is on Wagner, but it did not look good. Acciari, now healthy, will be slotted back into his role on the fourth line and that doesn’t worry me one bit. Our fourth line has been absolutely fantastic, with timely scoring and high energy/big hits. Welcome back Noel!
Back to the refs…
I’m not a big “blame the refs” kinda guy, but that 5 minute major on Cody Eakin was brutal. Although, that’s also on the Golden Knights to prevent San Jose from scoring 4 goals in five minutes.
There has been plenty of other head scratchers that make it seem like the refs are managing games. Every team playing has their gripes and although I’m a big believer in letting ticky tack shit go in the playoffs, it’s been infuriating.
Game 4 tonight!
I’m back and forth on whether the week and a half will be beneficial if the Bruins do sweep, but it’s never a bad thing to win the series.
